BeaujolaisBeaujolais

Located adjacent to the region of Macônnais, Beaujolais is the most southerly vineyard area in the wine region of Burgundy.
Beaujolais wines are the most popular in France, fresh, fruity and uncomplicated.

The vines in the northern area of Beaujolais are pruned in the gobelet method (short pruning) and in the northern region, guyot pruning (long method). The vines are usually trellised on iron wires and cut from 6 to 8 bunches per vine.

The majority of the Beaujolais wines come from the gamay grape which grow mostly on very hard, hilly and stony ground.
The distinctive character of Beaujolais wines comes not only from the combination of the granite type earth and the gamay but from the region’s unique method of vinification.

The fermentation occurs very slowly within the grapes, extracting brilliant color and soft fruitiness so typical of the Beaujolais.
Around the world, from Asia to North America, Beaujolais immediately triggers a smile and is known as the wine for fun and sharing.
