Philippe Merly
Philippe MERLY, our master oenologist, obtained his biochemistry degree in Paris. His passion and love for wine led him to obtaining his degree in oenology in the capital of Burgundy, the historic city of Dijon.
While training in the beautiful region of Beaujolais, Philippe realized that this was where he wanted to stay and continue his work.
Philippe's passion led to the creation of the New Alliance of winegrowers and oenologists throughout the region. He is pleasantly known as "Monsieur Signé Vigneron"
Frédéric Quermel
Frédéric Quermel, who leads our team of winegrowers throughout the south of France was born in Béziers, a beautiful village located in southern France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. He comes from a family of winegrowers and attributes his passion to his grandfather who began to teach him at an early age to appreciate the terroir and environment and how to create beautiful wines.
His family always encouraged him to become more educated in all of the studies related to the wine world. In 1990, he obtained his oenology degree in the south of France, in the city of Montpellier and received an additionnal degree in 1991, as a master in international trade of wines and spirits.
While Frédéric was acquiring his master's degree, he was offered a position in consumer sales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This is how he began his career in the wine business / consumer products, specifically corks, which enabled Frédéric to learn many aspects involved with the growing and selling of wine.
Jean-Luc Chagny
Jean-Luc Chagny represents our heart of the Beaujolais Region. Born and raised in Quincié-en-Beaujolais which has always been considered the center of the Beaujolais.
Coming from a family deeply involved in the wine business, did Jean-Luc ever have the opportunity not to work in the wine business? His father worked in the cellar of Quincié since 1936, keeping in the family tradition, Jean-Luc decided to undertake the study of wine. Subsequantly obtained his BEP Viticole diploma and soon after received his master's degree in oenology.
While continuing his education in wine, he decided to honor his family's tradition and became the wine manager at the Quincié cellar in 1987. Then in 1998 he became the cellar master at the cellar of Quincié.
